Objective: to obtain a license with Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services to practice Permanent Cosmetics in the State of Arkansas

Courses are designed around the individual student.
Enrollment Prerequisites:
1. Complete an approved 2 hour course of instruction on Blood Borne Pathogens from a DHHS approved provider. Approved providers include, but are not limited to, the American Red Cross, any nationally recognized body are organization, i.e., APT, APP, SPC, any institution of higher learning or other individual or group approved by the DHHS. The course must be completed before applying to the DHHS for a permanent cosmetic artist certificate.
2. An application for permanent cosmetic artist certification shall be filed with the DHHS. This application will be completed by the Instructor and the applicant.
3. The applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
4. The applicant must successfully complete a written exam designed by the DHHS. This examination shall be based on the Rules and Regulations pertaining to Permanent Cosmetic Establishments. It shall insure the applicant has sufficient knowledge of bacteriology, anatomy of the face and proper technique to assure that infection and contagious disease shall not be spread.
Passing grade: 75%
Study material and guidance will be provided by the instructor prior to the State required test.
5. The applicant shall have a health evaluation that includes:
(a) Establishing that he or she is not suffering from hepatitis, or other communicable diseases designated by the DHHS.
(b) Adequate vision.
(c) Adequate color vision.
6. The applicant must be at least 18 years old
